Product Owner

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Product Owner to join our team and drive the delivery of our core product initiatives. In this role, you will act as the essential bridge between business stakeholders and the agile development team. You will be responsible for maintaining the product backlog, defining user stories, and ensuring the development team has a clear understanding of priorities to deliver value that aligns with our business goals. Responsibilities: Backlog Ownership: Maintain and refine a healthy, prioritized product backlog. Create, review, and refine user stories, features, epics, and clear acceptance criteria. Sprint Planning: Actively participate in sprint planning sessions to ensure the development team commits to a realistic and high-value scope of work. Prioritization: Prioritize backlog items based on business value (ROI), customer feedback, and technical dependencies to ensure the team is always working on the right things. Production Support: Triage production incidents, helping the team determine the urgency and priority of fixes versus planned work. Vision Alignment: Collaborate with the Senior Product Owners and/or Product Managers to understand the roadmap and ensure upcoming sprints align with high-level goals. Acceptance Testing: Validate that completed stories meet acceptance criteria and the Definition of Done (DoD) before they are released. Product Demos: Facilitate sprint reviews and demos to showcase completed work to stakeholders and gather immediate feedback. Release Coordination: Assist in the drafting of release notes and documentation to inform internal and external users of new features and capabilities. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a key contact for stakeholders regarding specific features, providing transparency on sprint progress and potential blockers. Agile Ceremonies: actively participate in daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives to support team health and velocity. Team Collaboration: Work closely with Developers, QA, and architects to answer questions and resolve ambiguity during the development cycle. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2–4 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within an Agile software development environment. Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and familiarity with web/mobile technologies. Proficiency in Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, Confluence) as well as Google or Microsoft suites. Knowledge of Transportation or Logistics is a bonus.
