About the Role
We are hiring a Product Owner to drive delivery for our patient matching p roduct . This role is primarily accountable for execution: maintaining an engineering-ready backlog, coordinating across stakeholders (Clinetic teams MRO corporate product), and ensuring high-quality releases that improve recruitment workflows and product usability. In addition to backlog ownership, this Product Owner will be the primary driver of story acceptance and feature QA, ensuring work meets defined acceptance criteria and is ready for production use. The role will also own internal enablement rituals (e.g., demos, release walk-throughs) that build shared understanding across teams. Hybrid work schedule requiring two days per week in the Durham, NC office. Key Responsibilities: Backlog ownership and delivery execution Own and continuously prioritize the product backlog (features, enhancements, defects, operational improvements). Translate stakeholder needs into clear user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria (including edge cases and definitions of done). Lead backlog refinement; support sprint planning by clarifying scope, sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs. Coordinate release readiness across Engineering and partner teams. Story acceptance, QA, and release readiness Own acceptance of completed stories against defined acceptance criteria; ensure work is production-ready. Plan and execute functional validation of new features (hands-on QA): workflows, permissions/roles, error states, regression checks, and usability fit. Partner with Engineering on test coverage and gaps; ensure issues are triaged and reworked before release. Maintain lightweight release checklists and “definition of ready/done” standards to improve predictability and quality over time. Stakeholder coordination across Clinetic and MRO Act as a day-to-day coordination hub across Engineering, Clinetic stakeholders (clinical/ops, customer success, sales/BD, security/compliance), and MRO corporate product counterparts. Drive decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and surface risks early to protect delivery timelines and product quality. Demos, enablement, and cross-team communication Run internal demos at the end of sprints/releases; ensure stakeholders see what shipped and why it matters. Produce concise release notes and internal communications (what changed, who it impacts, how to use it, known limitations). Gather feedback during demos and turn it into actionable backlog items with clear prioritization signals. Product understanding and roadmap contribution (progressive) Understand and clearly articulate product direction and priorities to stakeholders (“sell” the why), even when ownership of strategy sits elsewhere. Contribute roadmap inputs by synthesizing user feedback, support signals, operational pain points, and delivery learnings. Key Interfaces You will work closely with: Engineering (primary execution partner) Clinetic stakeholders: clinical/operations, customer success, sales/BD, security/compliance MRO corporate product stakeholders and adjacent platform teams Qualifications (Required) 3 years in a Product Owner / Product Operations / Business Analyst / Delivery Product role supporting software delivery. Demonstrated strength in backlog management, user story writing, acceptance criteria, and sprint-level execution. Hands-on experience validating and accepting completed work (UAT, functional QA, or equivalent). Strong stakeholder management skills in cross-functional, matrixed environments. Excellent written communication—able to create clarity across technical and non-technical audiences. Comfort operating in Agile delivery (scrum/kanban) with disciplined execution habits. Preferred Qualifications Experience in healthtech, clinical research, EHR-adjacent products, or regulated data environments. Familiarity with patient recruitment / clinical trial operations and the realities of site workflows. Experience working in post-acquisition or multi-org environments where product direction is shared across business units.
